Project

NSF INVESTS

This massive undertaking had a component to use Alternative Learning Records (ALRs) for recognition of student achievement and digital credentials is a part of it. I led the technical operations of ALRs creating ecosystems and automations within the California State University (CSU) system. We had goals of the NSF grant to provide students with a certain number of competencies. We had to get them designed, certified by the Digital Badging Advisory Board which I was part of. Then architecting the system that can issue the badges to students compilant with FERPA laws. Then implementing by my team at Cal Poly Pomona and finally issuing them remotely using Open source digital credentials format called Open badges, this made it easier to replicate or move badges within platform providers.

Northrop Grumman Collaboration Project, Cal Poly Pomona

This was a multidisciplinary project between Unmanned Aviation Vehicles (UAVs) and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGVs) to do a fire rescue operation with custom vehicles designed by aerospace and mechanical engineers. I was part of the software team to create a central service software to monitor, control and have a live mission critical software. I led the interfaces for the software. The interface had to be made tightly coupled with a UI built by many amazing software engineers using React and Typescript. I was incharge of the interface, team leadership and milestones and goals in providing a interface with map, mission control buttons, failsafe interactions and be able to interface with the messaging queue and the backend with live feedback to the flight operator controlling the vehicles from the ground station.
